THE MAX-SAFE SPEED LIMITING™ SOLUTION IS AN AUSTRLIAN-MADE SPEED LIMITER FOR TRUCKS AND OTHER COMMERCIAL AND HEAVY VEHICLES. IT PROVIDES A REGULATED SPEED LIMIT, ALLOWING THE DRIVER TO BE SAFER IN ALL ENVIRONMENTS.

The solution allows for up to 8 speed settings to be pre-programmed, making the technology incredibly flexible; accommodating various terrains, tasks, and vehicles, such as prime-movers, trucks, buses, 4x4s, fork-lifts, buses, and heavy machinery.

The MAX-SAFE Speed Limiting solution can also be tailored to unique applications, such as a simple rotary switch to select the relevant pre-set speed limit, or a lockable key switch to set a maximum allowed speed. This is a perfect solution for mine sites, allowing a supervisor to remove the key once the max speed is set – meaning that the vehicle cannot go over the speed limit from that point on.

Another innovative application of the MAX-SAFE Speed Limiting solution is in tipper trucks, allowing a maximum speed to be set for when the tipper is not in the locked position, restricting the speed to 8km/h.

WHY A SPEED LIMITER FOR TRUCKS & OTHER HEAVY VEHICLES IS A GOOD IDEA

Australian research has found that vehicle design improvements have reduced vibrations in a truck cabin and masked engine and external noise and, because of this, drivers have become insulated, affecting their perception of speeding. This has led to some drivers reporting they were unaware they were speeding.

Additional long-term heavy vehicle speeding studies undertaken by the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority between 2003 and 2011 found that there were 12,107 heavy vehicles caught via speed cameras exceeding the speed limit by 15 km/h. Those figures average out to over 120 a month, or roughly 30 heavy vehicles a week. Alarmingly, all those caught speeding were actually doing at least 23km over the speed limit!

Given that excess speed in heavy vehicles is a major cause of serious injury and death you can see why a speed limiter for trucks and other he
